Coast Electric Employees Demonstrate the Spirit of the Season | People

As a cooperative, one of Coast Electric’s operating principles is showing concern for the communities it serves. Of course, since the company is a not-for-profit business, budgets for donations aren’t as large as people may think. Most donations are due to the generosity of Coast Electric’s employees. This Christmas, employees in the cooperative’s various offices have been working to ensure the holidays are a little brighter for those in need.

In the cooperative’s Picayune office, two families were adopted and employees donated toys and other essentials for a Christmas celebration.

Employees at the Kiln office worked with the Hancock County Resource Center to create an Angel Tree. Departments and individuals chose names from the tree and adopted 20 children.

In Gulfport, employees donated canned goods to Feed my Sheep, delivered fruit to area nursing homes and collected toys for the Department of Human Services in Harrison County. Besides the donations they collected, Mrs. Hollingsworth’s first grade class at Bel-Aire Elementary visited the office on Hwy. 49 to decorate the lobby Christmas tree, have holiday treats and visit Santa Claus.

“We hope this will make Christmas a little brighter for these families,” said Coast Electric Picayune employee Brooke Rester. “We are very blessed to work with such generous and caring employees.”
