Suspect accused of being father of dead child, faces another charge

The man charged with false pretense after pretending to be the father of a child who died also faces a charge of uttering forgery, according to Biloxi police Lt. Bobby Darden.

Darden said 27-year-old Matthew Ernest Ladnier IV of Gulfport posted an ad on Craigslist seeking a nanny in June. A woman responded to the ad and he hired her agreeing to pay her $1,000 up front for her expenses, Darden said.

Two suspects accused of attempting to steal cargo trailer

Biloxi police arrested two people Sunday after they attempted to steal a cargo trailer, according to Biloxi Sgt. Christopher De Back.

De Back said the incident happened at the 100 block of St. Charles Avenue in Biloxi. Police received a report of someone trying to steal a trailer. When officers arrived 31-year-old Bradford Curtis Chaney and 32-year-old Stephanie Marie Chaney both of Pascagoula reportedly fled the scene.

The two suspects were located and charged with attempted grand larceny.

Two charged in Biloxi Bay bridge auto burglaries

Two Louisiana suspects accused of auto burglaries were arrested Monday, according to the Ocean Springs Police Department.

Police said the two were arrested after a 2012 Dodge Charger and a 2006 Honda Odyssey were burglarized at the Biloxi Bay Bridge.

Biloxi police looking for parking lot burglary suspect

Authorities are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect accused of burglary at the parking lot at Edgewater Mall Sunday.

According to Captain Gerald Forbes the suspect broke the window to a vehicle at the parking lot and stole cash and several credit cards.

Forbes said one of the credit cards was used fraudulently at a local department store for $300. He said investigators believe that store's surveillance cameras caught video of the suspect.

Suspects allegedly went on shopping spree with stolen credit card

On Monday, D'Iberville police arrested two men accused of credit card fraud, according to D'Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne.

Payne said an investigation revealed Cody Ray Seymour, 27, of Ocean Springs and Scott Anthony Ponson, 24, of Biloxi stole a credit card from a friend’s roommate.

“They came to visit the victim’s roommate and stole the credit card out of her purse,” Payne said.

The two suspects allegedly made fraudulent credit card charges at Wal-Mart in D'Iberville.
